With its six motors, it provides up to six degrees of freedom. The joint that connects to the gripper is available in a straight (6M180) or perpendicular (6M90) configuration, which allows to tailor the positioning exactly to the requirements of the application.

All six axes are equipped with "Harmonic Drive" gears. These allow precise movements without slackness and a high repeatability of up to 0.1mm.

This Katana version can also be taught directly by hand. Apart from the tool center point of the gripper in space (x, y, z), the Katana control software Katana4D can also register the positional angle of the gripper relative to the object. Different grippers with integrated sensors (infrared, force, capacity, conductivity, position, color) are available. Customized grippers can be designed according to the requirements of the application.
