Test tubes and other laboratory objects constantly need to be filled into racks, a task that is mostly done by highly qualified laboratory personnel whose efficiency in their qualified area of profession is thus being reduced.

These and related laboratory tasks could easily be handled by the Katana robotic arm. With its integrrated sensors, it detects the positions of the test tubes in the containers and picks pointedly a single object. If necessary, it turns the object into the right position and arranges it systematically into the rack. This process can be carried out completely unattended.

We implement, in cooperation with the company IMiX, Reinach, Switzerland, applications in the pharma and medical branches. Apart from a universal solution, we also offer standard applications for the following area of operations:

Charging racks
Loading of equipment (separators, robots) with test tubes
Uncovering of Eppendorf Cups
Churning tasks
