Quality ControlInspectron Inc. in Thalwil, Switzerland employs Katana robots as handling devices in their vision enabled quality control systems.
In the area of quality control, vision systems are getting more and more indispensable. The cameras applied are getting smaller and easier to handle. They can be moved freely in space in order to shoot meaningful pictures. For that, sophisticated customized solutions were developed, because conventional robots were too expensive or not applicable due to space restraints. The small and compact Katana offers an elegant and cost-effective alternative for moving the cameras and for realizing efficient quality-control systems. Applications for such vision-enabled quality-control solutions can be found for instance in plastics industry, where injection casted plastic parts are being monitored for integrity. Where production processes need to be periodically adapted to different articles, the universality and mobility of Katana allows also an employment in processes with seasonal dependencies." |
